[Q] Merge partitions

Well, here is my story.

I was using 64GB SSD that had two partitions. One for OS and one for recovery (about 1.5 GB).

When I was installing Windows 8 via USB Flash Drive, I deleted/formatted the recovery partition and when I go to Disk Management on Windows 8, it says 1.5 GB is unallocated under C:/ (where my OS is).

But the only option I can choose is shrink volume.

An option to extend is grayed out.

What can I do to merge those two partitions?

First, do you have you Recovery Partition backed up? If not you may want tokeep that data. I know you said you formatted it but for some reason partition may still be secured. If it is, I would advise not deleting or merging it until you back everything up to USB. Remember, you are not using thefinal version of Windows 8 and will eventually need to uninstall the currentversion you have now.

But if you are absolutely insistent on merging the drives, the least complicated software solution is Paragon Partition Manager 11 Free Edition. You can fix your problem with a few clicks.

I personally prefer Minitool Partition Wizard Home Edition because it has a lot of extra features.
