Default Chrome telling me "This page has insecure content" all over the place

Ebay, paypal, gmail etc I guess everything with HTTPS, google chrome is telling me it has insecure content and asking me if I want to load it or not.

Whats going on? The date and time are correct... I think this started when I changed some settings on my router (maybe).

I saw this too. There was also just a Chrome update so maybe it was some bug.

Chrome update probably just reset a setting to trust insecure content on those sites. Maybe you cleaned out your cookies that saved the setting that said you trust them.

    Not a bug.

When you visit a website with HTTPS the content is encrypted. This means that no one between you and the server gets to see/ interfere with the flow of information.

Up until recently Chrome has allowed mixed content. This means that some of the page would be encrypted but some wouldn't be. This can break anonymity/ allow for an attacker to tamper with information.

The new behavior blocks mixed content and only loads what is encrypted. The user is then prompted to load unencrypted content if they choose to.

If the page seems to be working/ behaving properly you can just hit "Don't Load" and benefit from full HTTPS. Otherwise you can load up the insecure content.

This is, I believe, the default behavior for IE as well and possibly Firefox.

Ok good to know... but I think there is still something wrong... on Gmail, HTTPS is red and crossed out...

They can't possibly be doing this intentionally, it makes their own site look bad...

That is definitely not right. GMail should have a green lock.

Go to your gmail and click the lock. Take a screeny of the info and post it here.

There is no insecure content on paypal or gmail.

It's definitely something with how your computer is set-up.

Is your router set-up to use a proxy server? That sounds like the problem. Is it possibly to reset your browser and change the configuration back?

When you click the red X what does it say?

Does this problem occur in FireFox or IE?

actually it sounds like you set up a web proxy with http over ssl and you don't trust that certificate.

Well @*#. I changed my WIFI card and bypassed the router and its still happening.

No it doesn't happen in IE, haven't tried firefox, I don't think either of them have this exact feature so how would I know if its happening?

Its not happening to any other laptops on the network.

I installed something called "getgo download manager" recently, but its on a ton of websites that list it as safe. Why would it be causing this?

    See attached file.
