That's my dream laptop cooler! But I can't find it anywhere at a reasonable price. Where did you get yours?

How loud is it though? Can you compare it to a similarly loud thing?

The bigger a cooling fan is the better since it will push better cooler at lower rpm. Zalman nc3000 is the best cooler I have ever had. I personally prefer if the cooler has one fan and mybe two but not more. I had once a cooler with 3 90mm fans and they were so loud, annoying and it did't cool anything.

I think an absolute max of 90C after 24/7 hours of folding is reasonable for 19x @ 70/60 TDP/TCP + 5%. Stock would probably get to high 70's / low 80's.
I have also set my CPU to 19x and going to leave it folding all day while at work to see what temps I get. TDP and TDC left at 62/62 which is default and seems 100% stable at 19x

Of course flat will be a few degrees C cooler than if I were at home as I leave the heating off. Oh well it will help the folding cause

You ought to get a 12V adaptor for your NZXT. I used one for mine before I chucked it lol and it pushed much moar air!

Cool, let us know how it goes! Does your CPU sustain 19x with those TDP/TCP values? I have tried to drop mine but I find it starts to throttle to stay within the power limits.

@Valentin N, I chose this cooler because it is almost custom built for the M17xR2. Because we have the CPU in the middle and the GPU's on the left and right outer edge, single fan coolers can neglect the outer corners. The Cryo has three 120mm fans that pretty much line up perfectly over each of the vents from left to right.

@Ferrari, Ummmmmm its hard to compare. The fans kinda make a lower noise. Like a lower pitched hum. It is definitely being amplified by the desk because if I lift it, it is much quieter. I could probably reduce the noise if I wanted by putting more rubber spacing between it and the desk. Bought mine from NZXT for a their unreasonable retail price Although, build quality is very good, but there is a problem where the power plug in the back starts to get loose......

Yeah it stays no problem, no throttling. This chip can do 21x at just 65/67! I used to run it at these values in my last machine. Beyond that I have never tested as the previous machine had a weak motherboard. It blew anyway lol

I have found however doing cpu folding no matter how little of many threads 4 or 8 or any value in between my GPU load constantly fluctuates between 80 and 100% load. THis is a pain. COnsidering the value of the GPU project is about 10 times higher than the CPU I don't see the point in using the CPU for folding at all...anyone else come to this conclusion?

I tried to fold 2h with my cpu and it was on 100% but I am folding with the gpu and I grid with my cpu (worldcommunitygrid) which always is on 100%

Welcome to the team! Nice Desktop! I had to read up on your video card, and it looks pretty cool

Wow, that is nice man. Mine requires a bit of juice to get the multipliers up on all cores and this, unfortunately, creates heat.

I have found that sometimes my GPU's sit at 60%. This is the often the case if f@h has just been started up, or the GPU jobs finish and the new ones auto start. In most cases, simply pausing all the jobs and enabling them one after another starting with the GPUs seems to get the usage to 95-100%. Make sure you leave about 10 secs in between starting each job.

    It is annoying...

When I don't CPU fold which is always lol my GPU always kicks to 100% load when I start and fluctuates between 95 - 100%. Does a 1835 credit in 7.5 hours is this good? THis is at 750/900 at 0.96V.
