80C under load is not worry some. I think 105C is going to be the shutdown temp and youre well below that.. 60C idle is pretty high, what are your ambient temps?

    Welcome to the team guys!

hizzaah and Chief I love that you guys are still getting points! hahah I hope to start folding again soon, but I had to move my computer to the dining area to make room for the baby on the way. Chief Congrats on taking the top spot again!!!

My latest project is painting my R2. I took my black shell and have it primed and the first coat of paint done. Tonight I'm going to sand some more and lay down a second coat It's going to be a Candy White with a clear coat to follow. I'm hoping it won't chip easily I don't have room for a compressor and spray gun so I'm using just a standard rattle can spray paint from autozone I have to do it on our balcony too so I'm paranoid about dust. We'll see how it goes. I'm also hoping my R4 order wasn't canceled. Looking forward to see how well a 7970 folds. Will post results if I actually get the system lol

Special thanks to justinkw1 for updating the OP and removing the HPCS part as it no longer applies. +1

Do it in the baby room. She'll probably make you re-paint in there anyways :P just throw a tarp down and cover the windows!

If you can get a fairly even coat of clear, I might consider doing more than one coat. Idk though.

Well I sprayed a few coats of clear. Funny thing though, didn't come out glossy as I had hoped. The clear was actually more matte then after buffed the paint with a 300 grit cloth in water. So I submerged it in the tub in water and took a 3000 grit cloth to it and buffed the clear to a shine. Then I touched up the edges. The edges of this thing were a pain. Tonight I'm going to polish it with a terry cloth and some polishing compound. Then on to the wax. I'm waxing it so any oil/dirt can be rubbed off and not stain the white coat Plus it will make getting finger prints and dush off it easier.

well just got my new fan to work....somewhat and got the 920xm in there...shesh was that a cough....pain. Spent all day working on it to get it to work....my laptop is a frakin monster

EDIT:whats the max i can set the FSB too? or whats a good guess. The 720qm only got 140 and 145 was flaky

edit also i forgot what was the multipliers i can do?

Also Throttle stop has TDP/TDC at 1000????

Also how do you set multiplier...i only see a way to set total multiplier...its at 13 if i click it and locks everything at 13....I thought people were able to set each cores multiplier

    /\
NM I see its TRL...afraid to click on random buttons

ummm I got it at 80 TDP 80 TDC from clicking TPL and clicked on TRL and put 27 26 20 20 and nothing happened...... Alright well set multiplier works but the other thing doesn't...

ummm waht did i do...no matter what i do i am stuck at max of 13 multiplier....it wasn't doing this earlier

    Well BSOD when i tried 28 27 22 22... :/

going to try 27 27 21 21 with 140.2 FSB...well that is stable with GPU at stock Nvidia clocks and stable with 580 1450 950 for gpu which is maxed that i can get...a whopping 5% lol The gpu is at 53C the lowest ever lol since i have fan at max speeds...cpu though is hotter then hell lol 76-78C lets see how this works lol its trying to get to 80c but my cooling mods are too good! lol floating at 57C gpu and 76-80C cpu (hasn't hit 80 but i am sure it will depending on room temp)

So anyone got any ideas why i can't get higher multipliers?

Well since i BSOD on higher clocks and this is the highest i got stable so far...dont want to ticker anymore until you guys respond but i tried to tinker with TDP/TDC and I set it to 70 instead of 80 and it is stable at those settings tried 65 and it throttled so better to have it at 70 and not 80 right now because it helps keeps temps a couple C lower. I'll raise it once i here from you guys for what to do with overclocking higher.

ack new PSU is hotter then hell...guess i am pushing the new one to its limit...if you guys figure how to overclock my 920xm higher i'll need to get another wway to cool the PSU so it doesn't brick

Well BSOD trying to play CS...well loading CS:source it BSOD so I am going to try using no FSB overclock and give that a shot...i hope thats the issue.

Well i ran at 27 27 21 21 and no FSB overclock and it worked until i hit Esc to go to menus in CS Source and got a different BSOD this time and it said hardware malfunction call your vendor...never seen that before :/

Alright so i am guessing i can't touch FSB and i can't go about 27 multipliers... 27 is iffy. 26 i guess is stable. I have 26 26 25 25 and its stuck at 23.7 I had it at 80 TDP thinking that was too low. I raised it by 5 each time and up to 100 and there is no difference. I seem to be stuck at 23.7 for quad core no matter what TDP I set. Is this normal? I heard people getting the 920xm to 4GHz on each core. I am stuck at 3.45 for single/duel and 3.15 for quad...seems a little low

Well my new PSU can't handle folding with my cpu and gpu both going at the same time lol. Fine for games but not for folding lol. I rather do cpu over gpu anyways because of points lol

ok perplexing....If i set it to 26 26 25 25 I get about 24 on all cores but if i set it at 26 26 26 26 it goes all wacko and jumps between 12-20 on all cores. This is with TDP/TDC at 100/100

Well tried 26 26 25 25 on 80 TDP/TDC and it worked just fine then went up to 26 26 26 26 and instant BSOD with hardware failure or whatever contact vendor.

Looks like no matter what 26 26 25 25 is max and it runs at 26 in single/duel and run at 23-24 on 4 cores with those settings. Is this normal?

ummm...ok....after crash i redid 26 26 25 25 and now it runs at 25 across the board for F@H. What the duce is going on. Well now just below 25 but only by a hair

Well tryied running F@H with 26 26 25 25 and it was running fine but went to sleep and woke up to computer black and lights flickering (hardrive) and had to force reboot.

Do you think maybe my MOBO has issues with it? Too much power draw for MOBO? I dont see why that would be an issue but just trying to come up with ideas lol

trying 26 26 24 24 to see if that can hold for hours of folding. So 26 26 24 24 is holding but i think DR man is onto something. I think if I want to get higher multipliers I need to increase voltage....I wonder if i can even access that

errrr my battery is useless...i unpluged the power adapter to go back to my old one because new one sucks and my laptop just turns off like you unpluged the power out of a desktop lol. I need to rebuild the battery but i think it is just too week for a regular 920xm lol

Also there is no voltage increase in my BIOS so is there a different way to overvolt? If not what would be the max 26 26 24 24? Is it unlikely that I can get higher single/duel core speeds if i drop quad core off the face of the earth? like 28 28 16 16? or maybe even 15?

I know 60 is a little high for a base temp, it's the new Clevo W6110ER, it's been known to have high base temps, i dunno.

i'm trying to set up my fahcontrol because i have another computer, myold one, that I want to use and control from the one i'm typing on right now. I followed the guide on the first post, but I'm getting nowhere. It keeps saying "connecting" and doesn't ever actually connect. Help?

I also realized that my client doesn't recognize my graphics card. I have the nvidia 650m, but under the system info, it says that I don't have a gpu. Instead it says GPU: 0, CUDA: 3.0, CUDA driver 4020. how can i get it to recognize my gpu?
