Re: NBR Folding@home Team
I suggest i7-3930K, otherwise you can buy a motherboard with dual cpu socket and buy dual then new xeon octa core (at 1000$ per cpu,)
I also suggest you buy a normal nvidia 580, buy a costm watercooler. I could try to search for one.

Re: NBR Folding@home Team
Good ideas, don't worry about searching, I don't have the money for it, though I'm just dreaming at this point. If I was still working overseas I would definitely do it.

Re: NBR Folding@home Team
Gah, stupid windows updates restarted my machine so no folding for me last night

I couldn't help but notice that the HDD light goes nuts when folding. Does this also heavily impact your primary system drive? I would have thought it would have loaded the information in to the memory..Last edited by Douse; 17th February 2012 at 03:07 AM.

Oh Thanks heaps for the notification!
Cheers.
Hey Douse,
You shouldn't have to finish your WU's, you can just press quit and then run the updated installer and continue folding as per usual. That is how I updated the client anyway.
DR is soo soo close to the MILLION oles!
Cool it looks like the new Client shows the overall PPD of the system including all slots.
Cheers.

Re: NBR Folding@home Team
Thanks guys!
I reinstalled F@H yesterday, though it wasn't this newest beta version, it was one one prior. I'm trying to tackle this crashing I seem to get. It ran for a few hours but when I got up this morning, it had crashed on a GPU again. I habve my GPU's at 1.05v so I don't think it's voltage, and they are not overclocked. Running 12.2 preview drivers, so I think it has to be a conflict between some program I have running maybe? I googled the error found in the log and didn't come up with much.
The crashing is killing my PPD
So it'd be nice to figure it out.
As for HDD activity, I havn't really noticed.
Can't wait to try the new Beta. Won't be till I get home from work though. Can anyone post a new screenshot? I'm interested to see how it gives total PPD estimates for all slots.

Re: NBR Folding@home Team
NIce! Thanks man! Finally did it!
Can't wait to install it. I like your theme. I have mine on default. Need to change that up!
I was reading on the F@H forum, F@h V7 will take the last three frames, and use the medium value of those to estimate average PPD, and time remaining, so thats why PPD can be really off sometimes. Just a little tidbit I found interesting.Last edited by DR650SE; 17th February 2012 at 10:07 AM. Reason: Testing for OP Formatting - Adding new subsubsection.
