Seagate drive tool
I have an Acer TravelMate 291LCi. The Seagate Momentus (ST94011A) drive idles in ~5-10 minutes of inactivity. Well, it's pretty annoying for me..

My question is, is there a tool to disable the idle function?
I'm very sorry if this was asked before, but I'm in a hurry and didn't search for topics on this matter.
Thanks,
Mihai

If the Acer is like most other notebooks, that function is controlled in the control panel under the power options menu.

Unfortunately it is not the case for the TM 291LCi..

According to the "power scheme" set up by me ("never turn off hard disks"), the hard drive shouldn't turn off when idle.

Make sure power options are set correctly in the BIOS settings as well. If either windows or the BIOS is set to make the drive go into idle mode it will.
