Low Disk Space C Drive, what's eating up the memory???
Okay, this has been bugging me for a long time so I decided to ask today. I have experienced this problem in Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. There's just something that is always eating disk space in C drive but I don't know the culprit.
Just in case you will be asking, I have removed unnecessary program files, deleted temporary internet files, caches, etc..whatever is available to delete (or Windows tells me to delete) and only have the latest restore point saved.
Usually, a reboot will remedy this and 1-2GB is restored but why does this happen??

Page file/Hibernation file? Did you set a max limit for page file?
Volume Shadow?
I'd say system restore but you say that you have that under control. Did you limit the amount that System Restore is allowed to use?

Check here....
C:\Windows\winsxs
It is a folder that caches the features and all of the MSI and MSP files for Windows....it adds new ones with each update to a MS productJeff Roach - MCLC, MCT

I would say run CCleaner, Delete C:\MsoCache and other folders leftover from driver installations, and if you really want to isolate the problem, then right click each folder in root until you find an abnormally large folder, then go into that folder and repeat and you will eventually find the offending files

Re: Low Disk Space C Drive, what's eating up the memory???
I come with two ideas in mind. One: a program like photoshop store large temp files. two: a virus. Check your drive to find any large file or directory. Use your task manager to view all I/O

Re: Low Disk Space C Drive, what's eating up the memory???
I recommend you download Treesize and run it on your C: to find out where the bulk of space is being taken up. Then delete uneccessary files if possible. This is often caused by antivirus definitions or other application updates.
If a reboot frees up 1 or 2 GB repeatedly then your pagefile is probably part of the problem. Might be time to consider upgrading your hard drive.
