    Default Using my built-in webcam... with no software? Help!

    Hey everyone!

    I have a new Toshiba laptop with a built-in webcam... but I can't seem to find any software to even use the webcam. The only time I can get it to work is through MSN Messenger, and that's not what I want to use it for. Does anyone know what program I should be looking for that might have come on my computer along with it, or is there a software I can download to use with it? I'd like to record videos and take pictures with it...

    If anyone can help, that would be very much appreciated!

    download a photo like program like this one http://photoboof.com/ or just google webcam photo program and look for one.

    vista or xp?? if vista go to run and type amcap make a shortcut for it and try that

    Have you, or anyone else, had any problems? I used the Logitech software that came with a notebook camera I bought on Ebay and it wasn't very stable and caused havoc to my system. Way too many processes.

    That's what was recommended for ThinkPad Vista users when Lenovo hadn't released the Vista webcam drivers yet. I've never read any complaints about it.

    Great, thanks. If it works well with Vista I imagine it'll work with XP!

    PS If I install the software first will I need to download any drivers?

    As long as you have the webcam driver (I'm sure you do; it's built-in), the program should detect your webcam.
