    Default Alps Pointing-Device Gestures

I don't know if this is true for all notebooks using an Alps touchpad, but my N6210 has a Gestures tab in the Mouse Properties where you can turn on a "Use Back/Forward Buttons" gesture via a checkbox. This turns on a feature so you can run your finger along the top of the touchpad for forward and back.

It works in IE (useless) but not in Firefox. At least, not that I'm aware of. Does anybody know how to get it to work in Firefox?

You need to download an extension for it to work with FF.

Wow, there's an extension for that? If you're referring to All-In-One Gestures, I have that already but it's not quite the same thing. This is touch-pad specific I think.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of...perhaps is flat out won't work for FF at the moment then.

    Also, please don't bump.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking... I'll just have to mess with it and see what I can come up with.

And sorry, I didn't realize that there was a no bumping policy on these boards.

Okay I'm going to pile on....I am having the exact same issue. I have tried using a synaptic driver...and i have been all over the web looking for solutions.

I think there is even a FF bug out there regarding the issue....please vote for it if you have experienced it

yeah i guess it doesn't work in firefox, but it does work in the windows explorer, so when you are browsing through my documents and stuff it will work which is pretty nice really.

and how do the other gestures work? i can't get the others to work right or i'm not doing it right i think

nevermind, you just put your finger in that spot for a moment then lift it, but the functions are too helpful, being able to autoscroll with touchpad is kind of nice i guess.

but please look at my other thread on how to have individual settings for touchpad and usb mouse, different sensitivity settings.
