    Default How do i stop dell express upgrade to vista soft ware

    ok so i started the dell express upgrade to vista software is ther any way to stop i hit cancel but every time i boot up my computer it comes uo i stopped that but it is still on mycomputer any way to get it off?

    once you start the upgrade it puts the files on your HDD saying it is process. Once that is done you must proceed with it. best thing to do is to reload the os. If you mess up an os install, scratch it, start it again. If you are worried about data loss, you will need to proceed with it. If you need more help, call dell. They will help you upgrade as long as you bought it from them. also note they will not help you back up your files.

    Look for the boot entry. Right click My Computer, select properties. Then go to advanced tab, startup and recovery, settings. There should be an option for you to edit your boot.ini file to remove the Vista setup director.

    Then you can try searching for the Vista files the upgrade disc placed in your computer.

    i think im just gonna stop it with msconfig and if ive already reinstalled the os can i do it again
