Default Please Help Blue Screen on Windows Vista

    Hey Guys and Gals,

My new Dell Inspiron is have an odd problem. After leaving my computer alone for a while last night I went to turn it on (I think it was in sleep mode) I got the blue screen of death. When I restarted it gave me the blue screen again. So it will only open up in safe mode. Here is the kicker, this happens on the battery only, when I have it plugged into an AC outlet it boots up without any problems.

Here is the only thing that I have really done to adjust any settings.

The other days when Windows Updates were available I installed all of them and the optional ATI driver update. When I updated my Index score it was actually lower in Graphical Power on Aero Interface (3.6 to 3.3) so last night I reverted back to my old driver (Dell driver).

That is the only true change I have made.

So it boots up fine off the outlet, but I get a blue screen turning it on from the battery.

did you completely remove your drivers or did you just reinstall them on top? you should completely remove your old video drivers before installing new ones....

you might want to consider running some sort of registry cleaner....that might help. :T

Hmmm that is strange, especially the whole plugging in to the AC works. Since you messed around with the display driver try downloading and install the latest driver for your graphics card. That is the only help that I could think of.

Had the original driver (dell), installed the new driver (MS update), then rolled back to original driver (dell).

I have CCleaner, but am not sure what to actually remove when I run it. There are a lot of files it lists and I am by no means an expert.
