    Default Mozilla thunderbird question

Hey, does anyone know how to archive your contacts and emails so they can be put back into thunderbird when you reinstall your system.
I tried copying the old saving folder and putting it into the new directory, but it did not work.
    Any ideas?

    1) Browse to this directory:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\
    2) Open the folder for your profile. (Each folder has a set of 8 random characters, a period, and the profile name.)
    3) Copy the Mail folder to another location on your hard drive.
    4) [Optional] Zip this folder to save HDD space.

This folder/ZIP file is all of your mail. Simply put this folder back in that directory on your new install.

The simplest, easiest way is simply to download and install the Mozbackup program. Everything will be backed up and restored.
