skype causing problem with wifi

I keep getting the message "acquiring network address" on the task-bar.

My wifi works fine, but it`s getting on my nerves.

I have found the problem is skype.

If skype loads before xp acquires my network setting on boot up, I get the "acquiring network address" message.

but if i manualy launch skype after my xp acquires my network settings it connects perfectly.

so the problem lies with skype.

Is their a way to load skype last after everything else has loaded.

have u tried:
1. unchecking the start.up box within skype (start with windows)
2. add skype shorcut inside startup folder and put it in the last position

I have tried putting skype in start-up, but skype still starts before xp acquires my network setting.

why should skype be conflicting with my network address if it starts first.

well, i've just tried to set my system up for skype to start with windows - can't duplicate the issue u r having :-(
my configuration:
. wifi via router (also tested with direct connect)
. avast and comodo
. spywareblaster
. bunches of other processes (hp prt manager etc ..)
. skype version = 3.2.0.145

cannot say for sure why is that skype created conflict if it started 1st - mail their support
