Ok, let's start over. You get a free upgrade to Vista Home Basic, so install it. Once you have Vista installed, you can easily upgrade to a higher version by clicking the Start menu and then finding Windows Anytime Upgrade.

All versions of Vista come on the same CD - Basic, Home Preminum, etc - and the DVD installs the components according to the serial you enter. It's just a matter of calling MS to buy another serial (Home Preminum) to enable those features.
