i was planning (Well was going for the asus a8js but that fell through and found myself with a sudden increase in budget) to buy one in less than two weeks this worries me...where did you get it from? and you are talking about the xi 1554 right? have you tried putting xp on it?

I don't really want to have to try an 'old' operating system on a mchine that should work straight out of the box to be honest with you

though i understand what you mean, is it the machine or is it te operating system

now its in my head i'll have to try xp home on it - i'll let you know

i give the seller hell for this, get refund or have them make the thing works before taking it back. vista is brand new so i suspect that their support or installation r not even knowing what to do, only just start vista installation and then pack it.

I even doubt that fujitsu has all the drivers ready for vista yet (like any other brands, so jumping to another machine, does not help u much)

I would suggest, my 2 cents, get them to give u an XP licence - u have a better chance to get ur machine up & running - with an upgrade option to vista at a later stage.

    cheers ...
