Have a look at Dells...they tend to have fairly loud speakers in their machines.
Current: Samsung ATIV Book 8, with 250 GB Samsung 840 EVO (RAPID enabled), Centrino 7260 Dual-band, 16 GB RAM.

Past Notebooks: Asus Q500A, Samsung Series 7 Chronos, Asus N53SV-B1 Xotic Custom, HP Probook 6545b, Compal HGL30, IBM Thinkpad X22, Dell Latitude D810, IBM Thinkpad T42p, HP Pavilion zd7000, Dell Inspriron 4100, Toshiba Satellite 335CDS, The ORIGINAL "Compaq" portable PC (yes, really). And before that I had the use of an Osborne 1.

A fairly cheap 14 inch notebook is the Compaq v3000z.

The Compaq V3000z is a nicely priced system. With notebooks, you are pretty much always better off with headphones to get better audio. Especially in the thin and light segment.

Only the media notebooks which are larger and heavier have better speakers, but even then a good set of headphones will outperform them.
