    Default Ultrabook

    Hi,

I'm looking for a thin and light windows laptop that must have:
    256GB SSD
    a MATTE 14" - 15" screen
    Ivy Bridge Core i7
    less than 1" thickness
    strong speakers
    USB3.0
    wired lan RJ45 port

    and preferrably has:
    IPS panel
    thin bezel around the screen
    optical drive

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Please no bumps for 24 hours, per the forum rules.

Ultrabooks won't an optical drive because if they did, they'd be too thick to qualify as an ultrabook. The 15" Vaio S might be worth a look.

    Try a 15" Sony SVS15 (1080P-IPS, optical drive, GT640M-LE, 35W i7-quad). If can do without the optical drive then consider a 15" Macbook Pro retina (1800P, i7-quad), 15" HP Spectre XT touch (1080P-IPS) or 15" Vizio CT15 (1080P, ULV).

It's usually cheaper to do it yourself anyway.

    Zaz,

Is it considered a bump when someone has responded and you need to clarify due to their error? Also, the Sony S does not qualify either - he said he wants "strong speakers," and it has typically lousy Sony sound.

Sony Z's, HP/Dell workstations, old-fashioned tablet PCs and, yes, a couple of really cool tablets and Ultrabooks that are easy on the arthritic shoulders and kinda fun excuses for buying new tech toys! Secret weapon: Galaxy Note 2 smartphone w/WACOM [compatible] "S Pen." It's all I ever need these days
