Well, the specifications you have written for a required laptop, my suggestion for you is that go for HP g62-373dx laptop. The details i am able to gather for this product is as follows;:
This laptop is powered by the Intel Core i3-370M CPU. It’s a 64-bit, dual-core processor running at 2.4 GHz. It has 4 processing threads and 3MB of cache. It was built on a 32nm process and uses 35W. This laptop comes with 3GB DDR3 memory and can be expanded to a maximum of 8GB. That’s enough memory for multi-tasking apps.

The screen is a 15.6″ LED high-definition display with HP BrightView technology for stunning clarity. The resolution is 1366×768 which gives you a 16:9 aspect ratio, and native support for 720p HD content. The screen is driven by Intel HD graphics which features 64-1274MB dynamically allocated shared video memory. This is not the laptop to play games on.
For storage you get a 320GB Serial ATA (SATA) drive rotating at 5400RPM. That’s a mid-size drive by today’s standards, but should be enough space for most people. The optical drive is a multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support. The 5-in-1 digital media reader supports Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO and xD-Picture Card formats.

For networking you get a 10/100Base-T Ethernet LAN adapter for your wired network connections. On the wireless side you get a standard 802.11 b/g/n adapter. This laptop comes with a built-in webcam and microphone for easy video chat.

External ports include 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 VGA port, 1 microphone and 1 headphone. Other features include a Touchpad with integrated on/off button and 2-way scroll pad support.
This HP comes installed with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition. Other software includes HP Photo Creations; Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash and more.
The laptop measures 9.7″ x 14.7″ x 1.4″ and weighs 5.5 pounds. The 6 cell lithium ion battery pack can provide up to 5 hours of unplugged power.
You can find the HP g62-373dx laptop for around $550.

Well i have used this laptop. And it is my personal experience that it is still working in a very positive way.

The Thinkpad Edge E530 is not a particularly good option for your budget, when compared to the Thinkpad T530.

The two areas where the T530 are superior to the E530 are:
    - Build quality: the T530 is the "real deal" business machine, with the magnesium rollcage.
    - Display: The T530 offers upgraded 15.6" 1600x900 and 1920x1080 displays, while the E530 is stuck with a mere 15.6" 1366x768. 1366x768 resolution in a 15.6" display makes things onscreen large, and 15.6" displays that have 1366x768 resolution tend to have very poor image quality due to low contrast. You should look to avoid this type of display when it is reasonable to do so, unless you require the larger text for eyesight-related reasons. The 1600x900 and 1920x1080 displays offered with the Thinkpad T530 have great contrast though, and don't make it so difficult to fit much onscreen.

These two issues also apply to the HP M6 and Lenovo IdeaPad P585.

Lenovo Thinkpad T530 (with the 15.6" 1600x900 display) through the Barnes and Noble Gold discount - $621 + tax and up.

    - Barnes and Noble Gold discount T530 link: http://shoplenovo.i2.com/SEUILibrary...FB&action=init (you will need to create a free Barnes and Noble Gold account)
    - Start with the cheapest base configuration.
    - On the configuration page, upgrade the "Display type" to at least HD+ (1600x900). You should not buy the Lenovo Thinkpad T530 in any configuration that includes the default HD (1366x768) display. 1366x768 resolution in a 15.6" display makes things onscreen large, and 15.6" displays that have 1366x768 resolution tend to have very poor image quality due to low contrast. But the upgraded 15.6" 1600x900 and 15.6" 1920x1080 displays have great contrast, and also allow you to fit more onscreen. The availability of the upgraded displays upgrade is part of my reasoning for recommending this computer.
    - Recommended: Get the free WiFi adapter upgrade to the "Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200", because some have reported issues with the stock "Thinkpad 1x1 b/g/n" adapter.
    - Note: The Core i5-3210M from the Core i3-2370M isn't a bad upgrade choice. It may also help with battery life since it's IvyBridge instead of SandyBridge.
    - Upgrading to the NVS 5400M dedicated GPU will help with moderate gaming. It isn't the greatest GPU, but it's a good step up from integrated graphics.
    - Does not come with a Webcam by default. If you want one, you need to select the upgrade.
    - In the cart, click the green "Activate eCoupon" button to get your discount.
