Need a Fast Laptop for College.
General Questions
1) What is your budget?
$1000 preferably, can go up to $1500 (not sure though)
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
I'd want the most bang for my buck, so I'd reckon I'd get that with a 15 inch laptop.
3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.
The Philippines, I could order online and have it shipped to someone I know in the US if it matters.
4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
Dell, not that I have any experience with one but their keyboards look like crap. Toshiba is a big nono as well.
5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?
Probably not.
6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
School Work, Video Editing/Photoshop, Gaming, Watching Movies, Listening to Music.
7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
Both.
8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?
Battlefield 3, Skyrim, RTS's, some games from 3 years ago and GTA V, Hitman: Absolution and Assassins Creed III when it comes out.
9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
I'll probably have it plugged in when in class but 3 hours would be nice.
10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
It doesn't really matter to me.
11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
I have a Mac at the moment but Windows is fine as I get more for my money.
12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer?
I would love to have a 1920*1080 display on my laptop.
13) Do you want a Glossy/reflective screen or a Matte/non-glossy screen?
Glossy.
14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
YES. YES. YES.
15) When are you buying this laptop?
I'm starting college in November, so anytime on or before then.
16) How long do you want this laptop to last?
3-4 years.
17) How much hard drive space do you need; 80GB to 640GB? Do you want a SSD drive?
At least a 500GB 7200RPM drive, an SSD would be nice but no strictly necessary, as I could always put in another one. Two hard drive bays would be nice so I can slot in a SSD sometime, but again, It's not a deal breaker.
18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner?
Not really.

Re: Need a Fast Laptop for College.
Definitely not an Acer Aspire. Built like crap, will fall apart within a year or two.
You could see if there are any Clevo resellers in your area. Barring that, maybe a Dell Insprion 15R Special Edition or HP Pavilion dv6t (build quality is somewhat in the middle of Clevo and Acer).
