With your budget, I would suggest the MSI backbone, you can find one in XoticPC, I guess..if that isn't acceptable you should just go with a HP dv6 as it is the best thing your money can buy besides that. Hope this helps,

Check out Sager's gaming notebooks (the NP9130 comes to mind). One of its various resellers (XoticPC, Powernotebooks) should ship to Canada.

Unless you're positive that you'll only be playing a few games on your little beast, I'd recommend more storage than 160 GB though.

Thanks loads for the suggestions , so far I'm leaning on getting the Clevo (NP9130) hence the positive reviews on it.
Just wondering if you think this is the right choice between the Clevo and the Lenova Y580, what do you guys think ?

The Y580 is a great machine as well. Good workmanship and performance from the reviews that I've read; its battery life is quite a bit better, and it handles temperature and noise as good if not better than the Sager. Also comes with a 660.
Highly doubt you'll get that for 1000-1200 dollars though... Lenovo is usually quite pricey.

I'd check out edit1754's post in another thread. It has a good selection of good gaming laptops within your price range.
