Laptop for college, gaming, and development (but portable too).
Chrome has just wiped my post out, twice, so this will be shorter:
15-16" laptop, decent screen and audio, GT 640M or better, 8-cell battery.
Already tried the NP700Z5C from Samsung, but the screen and audio weren't great. I'm tempted by it because of the form factor though. In that respect it was perfect.
Also tried an Insprion 17R SE from Dell. This was bigger and heavier and got much worse battery life, but the screen and audio was far superior.
Ideally I'd like the best of both, but I haven't been able to find a laptop that satisfies these requirements. I've looked at A few Sagers as well, but most are a bit on the bulky side for what I'm thinking of.

You can try a customized sony S. You can configure a 13.3 inch version with the 640M + 1600 x 900 screen + 7200rpm 500BG HDD for $1029. The 15 inch version is pricier but not by much!
