Default Please help me choose between HP Envy 17 and Lenovo Y580

I'm trying to choose between these two laptops. I'll be using the laptop for practically everything - work, movies, music, gaming. Since I will be playing demanding games, and both laptops can be configured with the same CPU, the GPU becomes a critical factor.

    The HP Envy 17 has:
    A 1 GB Radeon 7850M.

    The Lenovo Y580 has:
    A 2 GB nVidia GTX 660m

From what I understand, the 7850M and 660m are very close in performance. I was leaning towards the HP, since I think it has better build quality and better screen than the Lenovo (let me know if you think otherwise). However, will the extra VRAM on the Lenovo mean significantly higher performance?

Also... are there any other similar laptops I should be considering? Any recommendations would be very helpful. I have a strange requirement though. Although I want a gaming laptop, I don't want one which LOOKS like a gaming laptop! This is because I may need to carry the thing in formal situations also, where a laptop with glowing-alien-logo-type-things will certainly not create the right impression.

Stock the 7850m performs about the same as the 660m. 1GB is more than enough VRAM for 1080p gaming. You would only need more if you're using multiple monitors.

Thanks for the reply. I researched this a bit on my own, and it appears that only the most demanding games at ultra / dx11 / modded cases require more than 1 GB RAM at 1080p. These cases don't bother me so much, so it seems that 1 GB RAM should be fine for me.
