I am dual majoring in Management Information Systems and Secondary Social Sciences Education.

$1099 (MacBook w/ student discount is most expensive I will go)

While Apple is a great choice, it's definitely not the best one. I suggest you have a look at the ASUS UX31A ultrabook or the Gigabyte U2442N if you need a bit more power and storage space.

I do like my MacBook
. (mine is 5 years old and is starting to show it though)
I was looking at the T430, they are really nice. Plus the matte screen would be nice for working outdoors or by a window.
I didn't even think to look at ASUS, wow those are nice looking machines and pretty powerful and so light. Thanks!
And Gigabyte I had never heard of before, will have to look more into them.

I had a change of major, I am no longer doing PolySci, instead I will be doing a dual major of Management Information Systems and Secondary Social Sciences Education. Does this change what I should look for in a computer? Does it mater if I go with Mac or Windows as far as MIS is concerned? The college has no preference of computers that I could find.

I'm also doing an IS major, I brought a t430 today :P
Pro's
-Can upgrade Ram, CPU, HDD (Mac book air...you can not)
-matte screen
-Sweet battery life with 9 cell
Con's
-Bad base resolution screen... get the $60 screen upgrade is a must
-ITS FAT! AND UGLY! ( Does not matter right? )
Can give more info once I get it
