Default Should I wait for Intel Haswell next year?

When the new Macbook Pro's were released this week and the Vaio's a while ago I was disappointed as I expected to more features/designs. Apart from the Retina display and the HDMI port on the new Macbook pro's I was still disappointed. Yes it is thinner and has USB 3.0 but I was expecting something more considering the price.

So after a little research I am wondering is it worth waiting a year or so for the Intel Haswell processors?

Will next year see more design/feature changes to notebooks? Im happy with my Vaio Z for now and I am willing to wait a whole year until I purchase a new one.

    Thank You

If you can wait, the only reason to upgrade now is for the fun of it. I'd say wait. My targeted upgrade is Broadwell (the die shrink of Haswell). But I'll have to see if I can wait that long. I'm also hoping by then PCs will be offering higher resolution and higher quality screens as a general rule, though I'll most likely go for another 17" workstation...assuming they still exist by then...maybe there will only be "tablet workstations" by then.

You should sell your Z to me for next to nothing and buy yourself a new one because you're worth it.

No. There is always going to be something new coming out in less than a year, for which news on tech sites will be spreading like wild fire a few months before that. So basically between launch of the current gen and having a pretty good idea about what future gen has to offer, there are only about 8 months.

What were you expecting from the MBPs and Sony? Chances are, Haswell is not going to change much except for power consumption (they are aiming at 15W TDP for ultrabooks).

Also, honestly, I am very critical of going below 22nm. Well actually the QT barrier. I do not see them easily achieving Broadwell in 2013.

EDIT: Of course, this is IF you cannot wait. If you have a machine that is problem free, then there is no harm waiting. I personally only purchase after my machine cannot play the most recent games on low-medium.
