Re: £1000 budget for laptop......
If you'd reconsider refurbished there are very good deals to be had from Dell that are usually backed up by a 3 year warranty plan.
I have an Alienware M14x in superb condition currently available for sale with 2 years 6 months warranty remaining and is well under £1000.
I had initially planned on sending you this offer via PM (Private message) but you have yet to post enough in order for this option to be used.

£1000 budget for laptop......
Thanks for the offers, however I'm really looking at getting a brand new laptop from a retail site. Thanks again
I'd also consider any Apple Macs, although obviously with my budget I'd be looking at the lower end of the scale.

Re: £1000 budget for laptop......
Just seen the Acer V3 on Scan for £799 (pre-order):
Acer Aspire V3-571G-73618G50Makk i7 15.6" Notebook - NX.RZNEK.001 - Scan.co.uk
Specs look good but no idea how good a laptop it will prove to be. It so nearly meets all of my requirements, just lacks the 650M and blu-ray drive (I would happily pay £1k if they were included).

Re: £1000 budget for laptop......
Does anyone have any other recommendations? I would prefer something that is a bit lighter than the "Y580" like the "HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 Quad Edition" but that hasn't been released in the UK.
