Re: College Laptop
Okay, here are my last questions (probably), matte or glossy screen, and is the steelseries keyboard worth 90 bucks?

Re: College Laptop
Both are subject to individual opinion. Personally, I doubt the steelseries keyboard is worth the $90 upgrade, but there are those who would beg to differ. The default Clevo keyboard is very high quality itself! As for the screen, if you want an anti-glare screen, get the matte. For a more vibrant and vivid display (but reflective surface), get the glossy. Also note that the glossy is more a subject to fingerprints than the matte.

Re: College Laptop
I think this will be my final config. I went with the 16 gigs of ram for CAD and the other engineering programs I will have to run next year.

Re: College Laptop
Nice config, always interested in what fellow engineers are using. Since it seems like you'll be doing some engineering work (CAD specifically, I'm a cad user as well), CPU power is somewhat significant for the rendering speeds in those programs. But it looks like a beast machine, good luck!

Re: College Laptop
After doing some research, all that I could find is that the only people that would take full advantage of 16gb of ram are CAD users, which is why I went with 16gb. I'm not sure if upgrading to 3720 would be worth it for 160 bucks. I'm already slightly over budget......

Re: College Laptop
I think you can take it down to 8 gigs if budget is a big concern. You can always upgrade again later. How much is your current configuration total?
