Yes you definitely can. There are many brands out there that fit your needs perfectly. Two of them I can recommend are AW and Clevo/Sager, because those are the ones I am most familiar with.

You can game on a laptop in that budget, no doubt. Wanna know a secret? You can game on most machines with a discrete graphics card. I have a middle-class GPU from three years ago that still plays anything I need today. The desire for high-end stuff is just a little artificial

If you do decide to take the route that the previous poster suggested, it would leave you with more room to upgrade to an SSD or anything else. I'd check out the Sager NP6165. With the GT 650m video card and cheap upgrade to a quad core CPU, you can game on it easily.
