Us Need help with a Sager build

    Budget: $1350
    Purpose:Multimedia and gaming laptop.
    From: Xotic PC
Note: I'm fine with the weight being so heavy because I'm a 6'2"(188cm) guy.

    Sager NP6175:
    Display:
    17.3” FHD (1920x1080) Glossy
    Video Card:
    nVIDIA GeForce GT 650M (1.0GB) w/ Optimus
    Processor:
    3rd Generation Intel® Ivy Bridge Core™ i7-3610QM (2.3GHz - 3.3GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache, 45W Max TDP
    Memory:
    8GB DDR3 1600MHz
    Hard Drive:
    500GB 7200RPM
    Battery Life:
    3-5 Hours
    Weight:
    7.05 lbs

    Other Stuff:
    ~Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit Installed (64&32-Bit CD Included) w/ Drivers & Utilities CD's + Microsoft Office Starter 2010 - Included with OS Purchase

    Current Price:$1036.93

    Things still needed:
    Decent External Gaming mouse
Backpack to hold books, laptop, etc.
    Cooler
Some sort of cover/skin/sticker to cover the top of the laptop
Will I need a better ac adapter?

Options I'm wondering if they're worthwhile:
XOTIC PC Professional Monitor Color Calibration w/ Spyder 3 Elite

60 Day No Dead Pixel Warranty

IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU

500gb (w/ 4GB SSD Memory) Seagate XT 7200RPM NCQ Hybrid (Serial-ATA II 300 - 32MB Cache)[I'm wondering if a clean install of windows 7 onto the SSD will drastically change the Operating speed]

    Optical bay drive alterations

    wireless network options

Any other things I should be concerned about? Will this rig handle games just fine? Is this is the best possible build I can get for my budget without having to install a ton of parts?

I don't know anything about the calibration.

I would say you don't need the pixel warranty unless you're very concerned about it.

Go for the IC Diamond on both

A 4Gb SSD isn't really useful at all, it's not even big enough to put the entire OS on if I recall correctly.

The standard optical drive is fine for your needs unless you want Blu-Ray

    Go for the Killer Wireless.

I am concerned about the pixel warranty because of others complaining about dead pixels with this kind of model. Thanks for the help though, I'll definitely go with the IC Diamond considering it's only $25.

    1. Slappa backpacks are neat.

    2. I'm thinking on buying the Logitech G400/G500

    3. Zalman ZM-NC2000 for cooling solution

For the backpack, I'm a big fan of the Astro Scout.

As for the mouse, there's just so many options. Take at look a Razer (I'll be getting a Naga Epic), MadCatz, and Logitech.

For cooling, the CoolerMaster U2/U3 have gotten a lot of praise on here.

Why does it seem as if a lot of people complain about razer mice breaking? Also are the steelseries mice a better option? Also I would like a backpack under 80.

More people complain about Razer because more people use them. I've heard good things about SteelSeries keyboards so I would assume their mice are similarly well-built. Not sure about the backpack under 80 though, most I've seen are ~100. Try looking on Amazon for a "laptop backpack" and see what comes up.
