I think he was on about your comment on i7 720qm and core 2 duo. Anyway i7 720qm is faster but very power hungry as both are based on 45nm.

Anyway I would stay away from the gts 360m computer as it is dx10.1 and not dx11. In your budget something like a 6750m maybe be able to get hold of. Gt 640m laptops are quite cheap as well and they are latest generation.

I'm really not too worried about dx11 because it eats up more FPS to have those few nice features vs dx10, but I'll follow you, gotta ask though how powerful is a 640m or 6750 compared to a 260 or 360? I know a bit about desktop vid cards but never got into the whole laptop thing
And yeah I'm not worried about how power hungry it is because the only time I'll really be using the laptop is at school, home, or somewhere like a hotel where I can always plug in.

    Cool, thanks!

And the 360m ranks above the 6750, so... IDK maybe Im reading it wrong

Indeed it is, but its only dx10.1 but you don't care about dx11 so it should be good for you.

So no one can really find a better deal for the price? Best I've seen is still a 360m. Well, besides finding one of these Newegg.com - Refurbished: ASUS G73 Gaming Series G73JH-RBBX05 Refurbished Notebook Intel Core i7 720QM(1.60GHz) 17.3" 6GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870
    On Ebay for 625 shipped.
I think once I get the money (Hopefully 650) I'll just sit on it, checking eBay and Craigslist every day for another super deal to come buy and gobble it up before someone else can.

260M does perform similary to desktop 9800GT, which is okay and capable of skyrim!

although with that budget you shouldn't look into laptops! if you can't go any higher, then better go with desktops, I've managed to build TWO entry-level gaming PC last night, $500 each and could go less and STILL beat laptops!

I've already got a gaming desktop that plays most games at high-to-max at 60fps, just looking for something for college when I've got down time between classes. Thanks though
