Hey that's a pretty small budget so you should research AMD APU's. It's a type of processor that can handle gaming and is a lot cheaper than intel. A a6-3400m for example could play all those games.

I could go up on the budget a bit, but lower keeps the wife happy. I have been leaning toward the asus 13.3 inch with the 620/630 M as my 360m has been more than adequate. Those are in the 5-700 range, just not sure how sturdy they are.. thanks for the response.. will look into those.. heck.. they are probably what's in the 13.3 asus..

Re: Small gaming laptop for frequent traveler, buying soonest.
Well to be fair he said he "PREFERRED" a 13.3. I read it and it doesn't
say HAS TO HAVE IT. Mentioned he might go 15.6 so seems perhaps
there is some flexibility.
There is also this new craze called downloading movies., when you do this you
don't really need a dvd player to watch movies.
As the OP title says "small gaming laptop" you won't find a more
powerful, smaller, inexpensive option then the little sager. Screen
just might be to small for some.Last edited by tijo; 25th May 2012 at 08:12 PM. Reason: cleanup

Re: Small gaming laptop for frequent traveler, buying soonest.
AMD's APUs are very affordable solutions to boot.
Though the OP "preferred" such screen sizes, the purpose of this forum is to showcase to the prospective buyer what options are out there. It may be in your best interest to be more open-minded and less hostile of other posters here who are trying to help FlyboyPhil out. The OP also stated that he doesn't mind using an external ODD. I also don't believe IKAS V works for Xotic.
On topic: If the smaller screen size will suit you, purchasing an Alienware M11x R2 wouldn't be too bad of an idea. However, this is an appeal to your open-mindedness. The R2 has been discontinued, and may only be found on the NBR marketplace by users looking to upgrade, or on the Dell outlet. These are refurbished/redistributed items, but that isn't a bad thing. Unlike NEW lappies that are manufactured, setup, and shipped - R/R products are actually tested to ensure functionality. In addition to this, you won't be disappointed with AW build quality and Dell's warranty on these specific devices. A bit pricey, but worthwhile in the long run. (I'd much rather go with the Sager in terms of performance, but the AW M11x R2 for build and support).
If these new options don't appeal to you, make a post and I'll suggest other laptops that will hopefully fulfill your needs.BISHOP (PRIMARY)

Re: Small gaming laptop for frequent traveler, buying soonest.
He preferred a 13.3-14'' laptop under $800. Not an 11'6'' xoticpc for $900. I'm not wrong in saying advertising for that company is against the rules.
This is the "what laptop should I buy" section, not the "what xoticpc that doesn't fit my needs should I buy" section.Last edited by ForeverZen; 25th May 2012 at 01:26 PM.
