Cheapest 17 inch AMD 7970 laptop?

Lets try this again and hopefully this message posts correctly. So I am in the market to replace my Sager 5797 that I bought from XoticPC about 3 years ago. The computer is on its last legs and has been showing evidence of hardware failure. So here is what I am looking for.

I want to get another 17inch computer, with the new generation of i7 chips and an AMD 7970 GPU. Pretty much the rest of the specs are negotiable. The primary uses of the computer are for gaming and for photo/video processing for personally use. On thing I noticed on the XoticPC site was that it said the GPU was user upgradeable. Does that mean that they are finally building laptops with replaceable GPUs? That would be a nice option since that was definitely not the case when I bought my last Sager 5797.

Right now the best deal I can find is the Sager 9170 at XoticPC and pretty much the same price/same computer at Malibal. I liked my old Sager but I will say that the biggest thing against them is the aesthetics. Just wish the Sagers were a better looking computer to go with the good builds.

Anyone know of any other options out there? I can wait a little bit on the purchase but with the 5797 starting to so signs of failing I don’t want to wait too long.

I'm not sure if they are shipping yet, but the Samsung 7 Series Gamer 17" laptop are supposed to be coming with the 7970m. Then there's always Alienware, but both these options are probably more expensive.

As far as other resellers for the 9170, take a look at LPC Digital and Power Notebooks. You might find a better deal.

You could also check out a barebones system from RJTech.

The NP9170 is probably the cheapest 17" FHD laptop that offers the ivy bridge CPU and the 7970m.

1400-1500 probably is min. Downgrade the rams, remove the HDD, no OS.

Edit: if you have any source to get AAFES work, they have 17x below 1.4k mark with 7970m I believe.
