It's not about how the website scales for me, it's about having the browser maximized, I just can't stand maximized browsers, really anything but videos and games.

I run everything maximised. I can't stand having a decent resolution then running four apps in tiny windows and spending 90% of your time looking at just one if them. Alt+tab works for me.
Each to their own.
Besides, working with SQL and C# side by side is not practical, even on my 24" screen at work.

Food for thought: say, on June 3, Apple comes out with their retina display refreshed macbooks. Then, wallah! HP, Samsung, and Dell WILL HAVE TO consider what the screen means, and will *hopefully* look at their dismal screen options and come out with at least 1600 x 900 on their laptops within a month or so!

the rumors are only getting traction, even with the speculated costs of the displays, currently a 1680*1050 mbp 15 costs 68 it will cost around 196 for the retina ones available on the market right now.
