Re: Thin and Light 11-14 notebooks gaming worth compendium
I think Asus may be notorious for having overweight laptops in their mid-range. I believe this 14" weights 5.7 pounds, which is roughly 2.5/2.6kg. It was a minor sacrifice compared to 2-2.5 hours of battery life during note taking, however.
Sadly, at the time, it was one of the best value budget gaming laptops around, at a cool $1k +. Oh, technology...F8SV-A1 | T7500 | 8600M GT | 3GB (finally upgraded from 1)| 160GB 5400RPM |

Re: Thin and Light 11-14 notebooks gaming worth compendium
it was because it packs a old gpu, with not enough power, waiting for the revision, but I will add it, and put a note to it. Have to see the weight though
NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN! no laptop will come over that weight!
Im even thinking of putting the acer timeline U m3, although 15'' it weights much less! or the envy 6t!
the weight as the size is important for mobility!
Im going to put the second post for the notebooks that didnt make the cut, maybe someone doesnt care about the excessLast edited by Karamazovmm; 10th May 2012 at 08:27 PM.

Re: Thin and Light 11-14 notebooks gaming worth compendium
Suggestions:
Gigabyte P2542G (unreleased), 2.6kg with GTX 660M
Market is pretty stagnant right now though, this thread will probably sink due to lack of new materials. I'll look forward to reading it in two weeks/a month, however

Re: Thin and Light 11-14 notebooks gaming worth compendium
its 15'' and weights too much, although its lighter than the usual laptops that come with that gpu

Re: Thin and Light 11-14 notebooks gaming worth compendium
the Gigabyte U2442 looks promising... wonder if it will be a kepler GPU or the old fermi rebadge.
has thunderbolt though which is nice.
I never had a gigabyte laptop though... they have decent build quality/customer support?Sony S15
2.5 GHz i5-3210M
Samsung 830 128GB SSD
Nvidia 640m LE
8GB of Ram

I never saw a gigabyte laptop in my life. so dunno about the build quality and the CS, just hoping that the gpu is indeed kepler

Re: Thin and Light 11-14 notebooks gaming worth compendium
The GPU is old, but power?
Edit: I may be mistaken but I was under the impression that "Intel Core I7-3610QM Processor ( 2.30GHz 1333MHz 6MB)" was pretty good..

Re: Thin and Light 11-14 notebooks gaming worth compendium
the power comment is related to the gpu, the 640m. The real one, not the LE that they put, squashes it, its a 30% increase.
yes the 3610qm is quite a great cpu, no need to upgrade past thatLast edited by Karamazovmm; 11th May 2012 at 03:05 AM.
