    Ca Having doubts about purchase

    What is your budget?

What size notebook would you prefer?
    Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
    Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen

Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?
    No.

What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Web surfing, running multiple software at a time, internet marketing, coding and running (ubot), listening to music, casual gaming, movie streaming and viewing

Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
Will be used at home in different rooms

Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?
Only playing civilization 5 for now, may play other games in the future.

How many hours of battery life do you need?
    Not very important

Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
    Online is fine

What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
    Windows 7

    Screen Specifics
    FHD (1920 x 1080p) glossy or matte

    Build Quality and Design

Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
    Not really

When are you buying this laptop?
    As soon as possible

    A few years

    Notebook Components
Not much, 320 GB would be fine

Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?
    Don't care

Already ended up buying a discounted Dell XPS15 from the official website with the specs below for $1,172.60 (Total), but after reading about the new ivy bridge processors and seeing how you can buy a full featured HP Pavilion dv6t with a i7-3610QM processor for just $1,064.99 in the US I've been having some doubts. The XPS15 hasn't been shipped yet so if there's really something that's a lot better I can get in Canada and that can be paid off in 12 months without interest (tax included), like that HP Pavilion, I may just cancel it.

For close to the same price the p151em1 might meet your needs...
    Sager NP9130 / Clevo P151EM1 - XOTIC PC - Sager 15.6" Laptop

Not saying xoticpc is the only shop to buy from. This is just an example.

Then you can upgrade down the road... payment plans are pretty much like credit cards so maybe charge it up and pay it off the same way.

I contacted what appears to be the only Sager reseller in Canada and the cheapest Sager on offer is still $150 above my budget. Also I don't have a $1000+ to spend right now, so that's why I'm looking for a monthly plan.

    Mega-Reseller Thread!

there should be more than just 1 reseller in canada... research for more if price is the hard requirement.

    Sager/Clevo resellers in Canada:

    I know Reflexnotebooks offers financing.
Fortnax's site still lists the Sager 8150 with the first wave Sandy Bridge CPUs...
Eurocom: Well, I strongly suggest you use the search function on this forum.

Rathalos, you could also get a personal loan from your usual banking institution. Keep in mind that there's no such thing as "interest free" in life, you're paying them somewhere, somehow.

Perhaps reconsider/postpone the purchase altogether, go for something cheaper? As much as a computer can be a necessity nowadays, a high end gaming one isn't. (Did I just write that?)

    Good luck,

    Darkshado
