Clevo w110ER vs Clevo P150EM
Hi Guys,
I posted earlier regarding this and I can't find my original post since it's disappeared for some reason. Anyhow, I'm trying to debate between the two since the price difference is quite significant.
Sager NP6110 / Clevo W110ER - XOTIC PC - Sager 11.6" Laptop
Sager NP9150 / Clevo P150EM
I'm not adding TOO much to them, but I am planning to put the AMD 7970 into the 9150 if I get it. That being said, my outfit for the 9150 would come out to roughly $1600 or so with the cash discount and with the 6110 it would be roughly $900. I know I can get a bigger discount for being a NBR member and a student, but would the difference in roughly $700+/- be worth the difference or am I better off saving that cash and getting the 6110?

Re: Clevo w110ER vs Clevo P150EM
I clicked on your username and it showed me a list of threads you had started.
You are, imo, trying to ask me to choose from Apples and Oranges. The two are very different laptops. If you keep ALL the stock options in both and only select the 7970m in the 9150, you would be satisfying points 6 and 8 of the form you posted. You would, basically, get a very good gaming laptop. On the other hand, the 6110 might give you 4+ hours considering it comes (I believe) with Optimus. On the other hand, BF3 might barely cut it to 35 fps on ultra but I doubt it. You would probably get it to play on high but then on an 11.6 inch screen, it would not be fun.
It is really up to what you want out of your machine. If you want to play games hardcore and want to play them on high and then at LEAST medium with some settings on high two years later, go with the 9150 with the upgrade. If you are a casual gamer who would be setting your settings on medium and don't care if they are on low for next year's games and don't mind the small screen, go with the 6110. The price is a point of comparison if you have comparable laptops. You don't.
It is like asking should I purchase a race car or an Aveo 5? Well do you want to only go to Walmart and may be to work or do you want to participate in the 24 hours of Le Mans?Alienware M17xR4 | Intel Core i7 3610QM | AMD 7970m | 12GB @1600 | Crucial M4 128GB + 500GB @7200rpm | Killer Wireless

Re: Clevo w110ER vs Clevo P150EM
See my review of the 6110 and see if it helps your decision. I was debating between the NP9150 and the 6110 as well. But I was tired of having a netbook + notebook all the time.
Although I'm realizing a netbook still has its place. It's cheap, thin, light, long battery, and less likely to be uber careful with it.

P150EM
Intel Ivy Bridge i7-3720QM 2.6-3.6Ghz Turbo, nVidia Geforce GTX680M with 4GB GDDR5 [ETA: July 16th], IC Diamond 24 Carat on CPU+GPU, 16GB 1600Mhz RAM, Crucial M4 512GB SSD 550/260 Mbs Read/Write, None, Bluray Burner, No Operating System, Intel Advanced-N 6235 Wireless Card + Bluetooth v4, 95% Gamut 1920x1080 Premium Matte Display, 1 Year RTB Warranty + 90 Day 100% Pixel Guarantee, No External Optical Drive, Extra 180 Watt Genuine Power Supply, Extra 8 Cell Battery,

Total $3,621.95
Basically for an extra $700 I can have a full on Desktop replacement with the P150EM. The price doesn't really matter as it will be nice to have a powerhouse laptop in the house. However I also want something portable I can take around with me as well.
HTWingnut, do you reckon the P150EM is portable enough to take around with you - to and from the office, sometimes to music gigs (where I dj and use Serato), and travelling? Is there much battery life difference between the two? Thought I'd ask you as you have both these machines (I can only afford one or the other haha)
