Probably the most demanding thing I will use it for would be using AutoCAD on it. I will occasionally watch media on it. I'm guessing if it's good enough to run autocad then it will be good enough to run most games (not that I'm a laptop gamer, use PS3 for gaming, but might be tempted with the new sim city for example....might!)

It should comfortably crunch through Sim city. Depending on driver support, Autocad should be no problem too.

Im liking the look of the Aspire 5755G.

    How does the Intel Core i5 3210 - 2.5 GHz compare with the Intel Core i5 2430M - 2.4 GHz ?

    Respectively, how will the Acer Aspire 5755G Core i5 Windows 7 Gaming Laptop NX.RV3EK.002 - Laptops Direct perform against the ACER 15.6 INCH 5750G Ci5-2430 6GB 750GB DVDSM 1GB GT520 Win7HP 64-Bit Black LX.RMU02.194 - Laptops Direct?

The IB i5 is about 10-15% better than the SB i5. The IB laptop has a much better GPU(both integrated and discrete graphics are 50% better than the latter) that should allow some low setting gaming.

In simple terms, the 5755G is a significantly better laptop than the 5750G in terms of hardware.

So would the 5755G be significantly quicker/more powerfull than my current 6530G?

One last question... would it be worth me adding up to £100 to my budget for a better laptopp? If so, what would be the best in terms of raw performance, and how would it compare to the 5755G? I understand the Intel Core i5 3210 is the 'entry level' Ivy Bridge, being the dual core baby of the range....is this right? Am I right in thinking there are better quad core versions? If so, can I get one for £600 or less?

I don't see anything significant better even if you add 100. I see a sandy bridge i7 but what are going to do with the laptop?
Probably getting a SSD give you a better overall boost

But although I'm not a heavy PC gamer, I do want the best laptop for my money...so basically the most fastest / powerfull and one which has the most capabilities for anything demanding I may wish to use it for in the future. (sorry to be so vague but that's the best I can offer!)

Can anyone offer anything of my previous question....

Are there any SSD laptops in my price range?
