Re: Laptop for College
Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but I have taken your advice and decided on buying a t420. I used that Barnes and Noble Gold and was able to get a t420 with an i5 and a 900p screen for like $630. However, the coupon used for it expires in two days, and I don't want to make the purchase until the first week of August. Will I get a deal like this again or is this likely the best price I will get for that build from now until August?

Re: Laptop for College
Alright I guess I'll just stick to my original plan of buying in the first week of august. But is $630 for what I mentioned above a relatively good price?

Re: Laptop for College
Yes! Don't forget to add tax for your respective state.
That being said, no one knows when the T430 will come out, so there might be a clearance for T420 at that time.

Re: Laptop for College
Alright. Definitely going to wait for the new ones to come out, and I may buy it if there's a sale/coupon I can use to bring the price down, but I'll be glad with a t420 too. Are there any other Ivy Bridge laptops coming out worth a look at or under $700? Or there SB counterparts?

Thinkpad X or T series. I'd suggest you to take 14" T-series options. Great mix of power and portability.
