Since you want to do it the "old fashioned way," I can suggest you the Acer 3830tg-6415
Loads of power for multitasking, comes with features like USB 3, Dual Graphic Cards, all in a mere 13.3 inch style. Looks cool too.

Re: Which laptop should i buy?
i am happy with your suggestion but i would also like to inform you about someof the features i'm in need of: #1-multi touch sensitive trackpad, #2 wireless connectivity(Wifi), #3-backlit keyboard, #4- intel core i3 or i5 processor. I'm really looking forward to the multi touch sensitive trackpad and the processor. I do not hav the budget to go for the MacBook Pro. The build quality and the looks also is a big factor because i'm a DJ and a student. A minimum battery life of 4-5 hrs would be sufficient. I'm planning to purchase the laptop at the begining of July,2012. P.S: i'm planning a low budget and a good value for money laptop.

The Acer TimelineX 3830TG-6415 has
A multi Touch Trackpad, wifi is like standard with any laptop, an i3 processor with 4 cores, but no backlight.
Battery? My 3830TG Lasts EASILY for 7-8 hours when working on the web, virtual DJ and a few other apps. I'll attach a picture(s)

Re: Which laptop should i buy?
The acer timeline X is a good suggestion, but a relative of mine has just the same laptop with ice blue colour. So it would not be fashionable if i buy the same laptop right? How would you consider my choice of Lenovo Ideapad U310. I like its design and the trackpad is so neat and beautiful. Could you kindly please send me some reviews that you find of the Lenovo Ideapad U310. Also please inform me about your views on this laptop. Once again thanks for suggesting me such a good laptop earlier.

Lenovo laptops are built for like professional business people, that's why you really don't see a lot of them in the shops and such. The U310 will be OK for you, as I have used one two days ago. It felt cheap and plasticky, compared to the TimelineX's aluminum body.
You can still go for that, but honestly if I were you I would not go for a Lenovo for DJ use. And also Lenovos look pretty ugly to me, not really something to show off.
I also suggest you steer clear of any HPs as I had a nightmare with one of them a few days ago
