Where are you buying your laptop? And how long can you wait before you buy your laptop? New hardware from AMD and Intel are about a month(or a little longer) away.

You will need to wait for more than a month. Intel Ivybridge and AMD Trinity should be out then. Don't know about prices. Hoping that they would be low.

    AMD A10-4600M ''Trinity'' 3DMark 11 Performance Leaked

This combination is what I was hoping for you. But If it is a little too late for you, go with the laptop you decided on earlier.

The influence of processor is less compared to the GPU at the settings you are allowed to play at(again this statement depends on the type of games you intend to play). So, having an Intel processor or AMD would be moot for general daily usage. You will not notice the difference. Again, what I am hoping from AMD(and a lot of others) is just improved overall performance. The numbers will decide the ability of the chip. But for raw processing power, Intel is unmatched.

I have a Lenovo G770 and it is a great laptop... But, the Acer in your OP is better than Lenovo G770 with those specs. Plus, it has better processor and better graphic card. Not like twice as good, but still better. Also, that particular Acer model is really one of the coolest operating laptops with that kind of specs. And, I believe Acer is cheaper to upgrade to a 3 year warranty.

I own a 7750g i5-2450m- it is quite snappy and has handled civ5 well. It has another HDD drive available but you have to replace it with a 2nd hdd cover- price wise this is a good bet for 2-3 years and you can upgrade to Haswell cheaply (as it would be out 2 years then) and easily sell your 7750g to recoup. The left side vent does tend to get warm from gaming. Here in the US- the 7750g has gone as low for $500 with similar specs (500gb HDD though). I think the Tigerdirect has it but at $549.
    Acer 5560, A4-3400M 1.4-2.3 GHZ quad core , 8gb RAM, 15.6 LCD, 320 gb HDD, 6520
    g IGPU

    Thinkpad T-420 i7-2820qm 2.3 ghz 16gb ram, 160gb Intel SSD, 500gb 7200rpm HDD-ODD, NVS4200m (upgrade to egpu via express card slot), 14" 1600x900 LCD, 9 cell battery
