Re: Looking for new notebook for video editing
Just get the HP DV7. It was just updated today so you dont have to wait for it. Right now there is a coupon for 400$ off a minimum $1400 DV7. There is also a free upgrade to 8gb of ram and a blue ray drive that will stack with the coupon. In the end you will be able to get a new ivy bridge core i7 quad core, 1tb hdd, 8gb ram, 1080p screen, and a really quite good nvidia G650m for about $1100+tax. This laptop is also lighter than most 17" at 6.94 pounds.

Re: Looking for new notebook for video editing
LOL! Yeah, over the years I have used just about every video editing software package out there. Even things a lot of people have not heard of like MEP Pro. I'd gotten it down to Vegas and Powerdirector, and for a lot of reasons best articulated, I suspect, in another forum, Powerdirector does everything I want (and more that I learn every day)
