i7/1080p/BacklitKB ($1200)
- Budget: $1200 but I can stretch a little bit if I really have to
- Processor: Quad Core i7
- Screen Size: 15-16 inch
- Screen Resolution: 1080p
- Battery: Preferably with Optimus or something with 4+ hours
- Graphics: My college recommends AT LEAST a 550M, so something on par or better than that would be great. I'd also really like it with GDDR5 if possible so I can be a little more future-proofed
- Back-lit Keyboard
(I would fill out the form, but everything other than this isn't of much importance to me. Just making less for you to have to read.
)
EDIT: Options so far
- Asus N56
- Dell XPS 15z
- Lenovo Y580
- HP Envy 15Last edited by slapshot30; 28th April 2012 at 12:31 AM.

I have not used the two ones you mentioned, but the up-coming Y580 is worth considering.

Lenovo y580 meets all your requirements but expect it to release not earlier than June. If you can't wait I guess XPS would be a great choice if you customize it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The Y580 looks like a good option, and I might be able to wait that long. Does it have a back-lit keyboard or just the light that the other Lenovos have?

Thanks, I'll look into it. My father has an HP and it's loaded with issues. I'm a little hesitant to go with that brand, but maybe I'll have better luck than him.
Thanks, just saw that in a video from CES 2012. The Y580 looks to be the front runner for what I'm looking for. I like the brushed metal look as well. It's a breath of fresh air from the bland looking Thinkpad series.
