Re: Lightweight Gaming - 13"-14" IVB+650M Machines?
Well yeah, NAS will remain whatever cheapest per GB storage medium is. I have two servers running a total of 15 3.5" desktop hard drives for 10TB storage + 12TB backup, one is storage the other is a backup server. No way I could ever afford to do that with SSD or notebook drives, lol.

I am also looking for such a laptop. Kinda hoping for the new Envy 15 to drop, it's a little bigger than I'd like but still pretty portable for a 15". Hate HP though.

Not in the USA, that I've been able to find. The only info I've found besides him saying it are some italian and other euro blurbs that don't even confirm it will be a 650m or anything other then a NVIDIA 6xxM.

Re: Lightweight Gaming - 13"-14" IVB+650M Machines?
I don't mean right now, but maybe after 29 april and I'm not from usa so i don't know. I don't know what models are you talking about but i think that at least N5 series we can acess hard drive and ram easily(i´m almost 100% certain), so the n6 series probably will be easy as well. I just gave an ideia because everbody is talking but noone is helping the man and asus n46VZ has all he want. They are alrealdy talking about hp envy15 and stuffs like that and he said 14 inches! not 15...
P.S. i have nothing against or in favor to any company, but at least asus in my country give us a matte 15'6 full hp screen. Hp for example, only offers us a glossy 15,6 1333x768 screen and unlike people in the us, we cannot customize any part of the laptop!
EDIT: if you want one example here is one http://www.ceneo.pl/16591235s. They are already available for pre-order, with prices and everything in russia and some european countries. And yes, they have 2GB GT650M DDR3.
if you type asus N46VZ you can see a lot of more stores selling it.Last edited by JXulo; 28th April 2012 at 05:46 PM.

ASUS N46
Where do you see info on the version with a 650m? Do you know if it's ddr5 or ddr3?

I'm in the same situation as all of you as well. I would give up an optical drive for a dedicated GPU in a 13" notebook any day! I'm just waiting to see what new laptops will be released in the coming weeks now that Ivy Bridge.
