All in, the deal right now gets a 32GB mSSD + 1 TB HDD with the best processor and other bells and whistles for $949.

If the 650M comes in June, how long would it take to see a similar price with a similar load out?

I am worried that this will back up against grad school starting in August, and I need a machine by then.

Pull the trigger and get the lower GPU now for sub $1k, or wait and see where the prices come out in June with the 650M?
Wait and see. The 650 announcement should be coming soon (so youll know a ship date better then). Moreover, you are eligible for sales discounts 21 days after you order. Meaning if you buy it and two weeks later, the price drops $500 (like it did on the current Y480), you get a $500 refund.

Yea i think the point of this thread is more along the lines of finding thin and light 11"-14" laptops with a decent GPU + IVB combo.
    Sony S15
    2.5 GHz i5-3210M
    Samsung 830 128GB SSD
    Nvidia 640m LE
    8GB of Ram

nvidia's GTC 2012 is May 14-17. I would expect some news to start flowing there.

Feel free to stay here and discuss, I didn't mean to sound harsh. I think the thread is more 11"-14" IVB+Kepler GPU, so keep the models coming.

I, personally, am holding out for a 650M or better.

13-14" with 650m GDDR5 with a quality 1600x900 screen is what my minimum is. 1920x1080 with 660m would be great, but not likely.
