Need laptop for business (programming web apps)
What is your budget?
1000$ (of course, less is always better
)
What country will you be buying this in?
Croatia
What size notebook do you prefer?
Thin and Light (13 - 14-inch screen)

Will be used different places
How many hours of battery life do you need?
5 (battery life is actually rather important parameter for me)

online or in store
Which OS do you prefer?
Linux
List the screen resolutions that interest you:
Standard Resolution (1366 x 768)
High Resolution (1600 x 900)
(the bigger resolution is always better for me, but if everything else is OK, I can live with 1366x768; would not like to go with resolution lower than that one)
Do you prefer a glossy or matte screen?
Matte is fine
Is the laptops design important to you?
No
Approximately what date will you be buying this laptop?

Maybe
Do you want a built-in optical drive, what type?
No
I must add one more thing - as I'm Linux user, I need laptop which works fine with Linux; especially would like to avoid laptops which has problems with overheating in Linux (and it seems to me that it's a very common thing). I am aware that someone in USA or some other part of the world is not familiar with offer and prices in Croatia, however, I'm trying to get some hints about models that fits my specifications. So, to summarize, I'm looking for a model that has a good Linux support, non-glossy screen, good battery life and that does not overheat (under Linux).
Thanks in advance

Re: Need laptop for business (programming web apps)
Thanks a lot. Model with Core i5-2520 costs about $1.500 in Croatia (model with i3-2310M is approx. $100 cheaper), but even than is reachable if it works OK. Does Linux really have good support for all components this model have? And does it have problems with overheating? I would like to be able to use it in laptop while in train/bus/airplane...

$1500 in Croatia? In US I can get T420 for about $800.
I don't think Linux will cause overheating problems on T420, as it has good build quality. You can ask if they can sell you a machine without window OS

Re: Need laptop for business (programming web apps)
Well, everything is much more expensive in Croatia. Add customs, VAT and various other taxes and bigger margins sellers have, and everything costs at least 70% more here then in US.
Well, I definitely don't need Windows. I'll try. Thanks for answering.
