If Intel changes the socket, you are stuck with the same generation of CPUs. And you will also need to take into account the thermal pads on the GPU. You will need to find a compatible one in case you change the GPU. Both the CPU and the GPU are upgradeable.

There is no point in shipping the laptop to India after buying it from the US. That would defeat the entire purpose of buying it abroad as the import duty in India is ridiculous. In case something goes wrong with the laptop you will be shipping it to the US for repairs. You will be buying this laptop from your friend and telling him to bring it to India. So if in the worst case scenario you are not able to find any 1 I suggest you get a laptop in India. Duties for imported laptops are too high in India. Its no worth it. Also the added shipping charges will make it ridiculous.
