Low budget for a business subnotebook
I'm searching for a light business notebook.
Until now i've found this options in the range of 160-260 euro
- Lenovo X61s (180 euro - L7500)
- Dell D430 (180 euro - U7600)
- HP 2510P (180 euro - U7600)
- Ideapad U350 (280 euro - U7300)
- Hp 2530P (280 euro, with a case and 2 battery suppliers - SL9400)
All this notebook but the U350 are of second hand, in good conditions but with a so so battery life.
The 2530P is really like a new product and the U350 is really new.
The usage of this notebook will be strictly business oriented with an moderate programming activity (Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.)HP Business 6510B - Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 | 14.1" | Hynnix 2 x 2 Gb. | No hd

Re: Low budget for a business subnotebook
Personally, I would go with the IdeaPad U350. It's newer out of the lot of them, so uses newer technology.
However, all contenders are great notebooks, and it would ultimately be completely your own choice.Mid-2010 15inch Macbook Pro

Re: Low budget for a business subnotebook
I'm interested primarily in keyboard and display quality but also performance and battery life are my concerns.
Considerinf the indicated prices which seems to be the "best" options ?HP Business 6510B - Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 | 14.1" | Hynnix 2 x 2 Gb. | No hd

Re: Low budget for a business subnotebook
To be brutally honest, it depends on your preferences. A keyboard that is good for one person, may be horrible for another.
However, the Thinkpads keyboard has been dubbed 'the best'. Having a good keyboard on the X61s also has it's downfall, given it only has 1024x768 resolution, which is not sufficient enough nowadays, given you want to use development programs.
Given you already have a HP, I'd say go with the 2530p... I haven't used it, so I can't comment on anything.
You can check out the review for the 2530p here on NBR.Mid-2010 15inch Macbook Pro

Re: Low budget for a business subnotebook
In terms of performance are there concrete differences among the different cpus used by 2530p and u350.
Respect to these cpus how can be considered the "old" L7500 ?HP Business 6510B - Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 | 14.1" | Hynnix 2 x 2 Gb. | No hd

Re: Low budget for a business subnotebook
CPU wise, the SL9400 is definently the most powerful compared to the other ones listed.

Re: Low budget for a business subnotebook
Thanks Joel.
Considering the fact the the U350 is new and not used, can it be however a "bargain" for this price or not ?
Currently I could get it for 260 euro.
How much the 2530p is a better performer than this U350 ?
In terms of display and keyboard quality can these product be considered at the "same" level ?

Re: Low budget for a business subnotebook
Because of the price, I would definently go for the U350.
The 2530P is considered a business notebook, while the U350 is considered a consumer notebook, you lose some things like build quality, however, I have gone from having a business quality notebook to a consumer notebook and only noticing a slight variance in quality. This all leads to personal preference as well.
The SL9400 is about 22% more powerful then the U7300. The SL9400 is 1.83GHz, 6MB Cache, while the U7300 is 1.3GHz and 3MB Cache.
There is another thread, here, that outlines the differences between the two processors.. But my personal opinion, due to the price, I'd go the U350.Mid-2010 15inch Macbook Pro
