Any thoughts on the Latitude E5420? It's really affordable with the discount. I know you get what you pay for too. But is it a decent laptop? The e6520 looks a little out of my price range.

I think you'll find the E5420 a very sturdy notebook. It lacks the refinement of the 6xxx series, the bezel is a bit wider, etc., but it's a real latitude. Keyboard is decent. HD+ display provides decent workspace. It'll be a good miniworkstation.

How hard is it to install ram on Dells? I was thinking of getting the Latitude with 2GB and installing 2 more myself to save some cash. I have a Mac Pro and it was really easy. I know PCs aren't always that simple.

LOL... Upgrading a Dell Latitude will be a stroll in the park compared to upgrading a Mac, you won't have any problems :-)

If you can wait for Dell Outlet coupons, I'm fairly certain you can get a e6520 under $600. It's just a matter of whether you have the luxury of waiting.
