Re: Light gaming but light portable Laptop For School
I still think you're better off waiting for what's to come. The reason I started talking about ultrabooks is because they can be really sensible for your use. Out of the current offerings a Sony Vaio S might also be up your alley. The only thing that should fall a bit short there is the GPU, which is an AMD 6630M. Perhaps an Ivy Bridge/Kepler refresh would make it an attractive option?

Re: Light gaming but light portable Laptop For School
Wait for the Clevo P151EM due out in a couple weeks. Should have 3-4 hours battery (hopefully more) with a decently powerful GPU coupled with Optimus. You will have great option of screens, and if you run with an i7-3630QM (or whatever lowest quad is) and GT 650m you should be able to easily configure it under $1500. The P151 variant comes with a smaller power supply, and isn't any bigger or heavier than the HP DV6. Its about 6.8 lbs. vs 5.8 lbs, but the GPU will most likely be more powerful. Although those new DV6's do look nice.

Re: Light gaming but light portable Laptop For School
The Clevo P1xxEM/HM really are about the same size and "heft" as the HP's where the Clevo has considerably better GPU. Obviously your choice. I chose the HP DV6z because of cost and battery life, but if a Sager can manage 4-5 hours with Optimus, I'm sold.
From my comparison of DV6z and Sager NP8131 (sorry for my boring monotonous voice, I did this spur of the moment with spare time I had):

Re: Light gaming but light portable Laptop For School
aite thanks dude +rep (even tho its ot much :P) ill be looking into sagers. One thing i require is a backlit keyboard ik the dv6z doesnt have it im assuming the sager one either? Also is the sager screen ips? I will prolly look into gt 650m/gtx 660m if i get the sager, those cards should be able to fit into the one u reviewed right? I just hope they got battery life.

Clevo Clevo sur mesure P151EM 15.6" FullHD, i7, Ivy Bridge pcw.fr - distributeur Clevo officiel, CLEVO P270WM, CLEVO P150EM, CLEVO P170EM, CLEVO P150HM, CLEVO P180HM, CLEVO P170HM...
from that link apparently the 670m/675m go into it. I would rather have a lesser card than that thickness for this laptop lol
