Which coupon is that? Is it still available? Also, do you know if the Anti-glare LED Display in inferior to the Brightview LED Display?

    Thanks.

i just bought it, the coupon is NBQL6835

Absolutely take the Antiglare display. With the coupon you save enough money to buy it. The display on this laptop is a must, the 768 display is really low quality for a 15.6 screen. You can fit more in the screen with the 1800 display, enjoy hd movies etc. Absolutely get it unless you don't like smaller icons and text.

The coupon is still available but it will probably expires in a few days, on the website it says june 15 or before. I paid 880$ for my configuration. Also try to get the radeon 6770, for an extra 25$ is worth it.

    good luck

You can always change the resolution on the screen as well as change font settigns using Windows. To make the text bigger, but everything else still small, change the DPI settings (most people are happy with 125% on a 1080p display, it seems). It's much better to have the option to downscale a display from higher to lower resolutions, since it's impossible to upscale a lower-res display.

TL,DR: Buy the 1080p display option. Period.

I meant is an Anti-Glare display inferior to a Brightview display in general, sceen resolution being the same. Is the anti-glare not as bright (less light)?

Get the dv6tqe. Period. The ENVY is overrated even last gen. The 1080p option trumps the ENVY. I had the 1366x768 for 3 days, and returned it for the 1080p. World of difference. Can never go back.

Use the coupon and get 1080p screen, the 6770m 1GB (2 is unnecessary but my upgrade was free with exchange), blu player may still be a "free" option, and whatever else you think you need. I came out at 900 bucks.

Trust me, if HP is willing to write a big enough check, that supplier will start the assembly line for 1600x900 radiance displays right back up.

If they had the check (and I bet they could afford it), Hp, et al, would be bringing back 16:10 displays, like 1920*1200 (no longer made). In the end, the decision to produce the lesser-quality screens is a matter of economics; why produce x number of great screens when I can produce 1.5x or more "good enough" screens and thus earn a greater profit margin?

Also, from what I hear, the company that produced the Radiance screens went out of business, and company IP isn't exactly a liquid asset that another company can simply pick up and reproduce.

Just buy the dv6t instead. you'll get the option of a 1920*1080 display, which is more room to work with compared to a possible 1600*900 screen that could be offered in the Envy refresh.

Currently, without that 900p screen, the Envy is nothing more than over-hyped hardware, and not worth the money.

This. I recently purchased this today. HP has a sick 33% Off coupon that comes once every blue moon, and on the DV6 Quad Edition, a computer that holds up, is is one of the best in its class/Value.

    I Upgraded to:
Full 1920x1080 Anti Glare HD Screen,
    8 GB DDR3 Ram, 750 GB 7200RPM,
9.75 Hour Battery Over sized Battery,
    (2nd generation i7 2.2GHz w/ Turbo Boost up to 3.3Ghz),
Blue Ray Reader/Writer& SuperMulti DVD Burner,
    1GB GDDR5 Radeon HD 6770M Graphics,
Even LoJack For Two years so if it ever gets stolen i could recover it.

Saved myself a cool $592 with the 33% Off coupon. Been doing Research for a long time and holding off buying laptops until this perfect deal came up. Hp does not release 33% Coupons very often.

Size is a personal issue, that i dont think anyone can help you with. I used To want something ultra portable but it was either to expensive, Not as powerful (Smaller laptops are generally weaker) Or lacked the Full 1080P Screen (As Seen with ENVY's CR*P screen). I came to my senses to go with the 15.6", after carrying it and realizing its not that bad. Some students even go to college with 17" Laptops!

When the 33% Coupon came off i was a bit hesitant at first but came to my senses because i wanted to get value for my Money, and Something that will Last. I couldnt go wrong with a Quad 2nd Generation i7 Processor, the Full HD Screen, and best of all the 33% off Coupon. The Blue Ray was a Plus, but it will be awesome on that screen!

If you dont think this is the best deal you can hold out but i've been waiting about one-two months for a good deal until i decided to purchase.
