Re: Xps 15 vs Pavilion dv6
0QZNX8B2J326BZ This coupon code says its only for 70 but when applied to the xps it is actually dropping 100 off. Bringing the xps with the screen upgrade to about 794 and without the upgrade a measly 644, it cost 60 to upgrade ram but im sure you can get 2GB of ram elsewhere for much cheaper, try newegg for the ram.
You can always try calling dell and haggling with them, there is a long thread that goes deeper into that in the dell and alienware thread that you can take a look at.
Edit: Forgot you have to downgrade to the lower warranty which takes 55 dollars off the xps to achieve those prices

Re: Xps 15 vs Pavilion dv6
If you get the XPS with 4GB then you'll have to get another 4GB stick to upgrade it to 6GB. If you get 6GB you'll need a 4GB stick to upgrade to 8GB. They generally run for around $39, and be sure to get 1333MHz DDR3 and not 1066MHz DDR3.
The reason is because 4GB is 2x2GB DIMMS and 6GB is 1x2GB and 1x4GB. You'll be replacing a 2GB DIMM with 4GB.Last edited by edit1754; 12th May 2011 at 01:35 AM.
